Doxy goes after regular borrelia. Flagyl gets the cysts.
What abx gets the cell wall form inside cells?

My LLMD told me that Doxy goes after the extracellular and the intracellular form of Borrelia. Flagyl takes care of the cystic form, so with those two meds you are covering all three forms.
Can someone else confirm this? Thanks.

My LLMD mentioned doxy as an intracellular one also. She uses Ceftin or Bicillin for the extracellular.

My doc got rid of my lyme with amoxicillin (and probinecid) and flagyl.
I had lyme undiagnosed for 10 years. It has now been over 5 years since I completed my treatment and I am still symptom-free, enjoying my life, so I believe his treatment worked.

I have my next LLMD appointment on MOnday. I'm going to ask to switch to Amoxy / Probenecid as I hate avoiding the sun with Doxy.
