I have had Lyme Disease for about 7 years now and my joints/tendons are getting progressively worse. To quote another kind person on these boards, I feel like I was put together with sticks! I crack and creak all the time.. It feels like my tendons are all really tight and "snap" across my muscles/bones when they move... What exactly is happening? Does anyone know? Is lyme destroying the cartillige, the tendon itself, the tendon's sheath, etc? What exactly is going on?
Also, other than turmeric/glucosamine, does anyone know of any "wonder substance" that helps with this?
I'm on plaquenil + taking turmeric and glucosamine and I feel no less terribly bad.
Thanks all
Matthew

Before I was diagnosed with bartonella my muscles would seize and then hurt in my tendons as though they had been pulled or sprained. Treating bart put most of that to rest but my neck still cracks when I roll my head - hardly think of it though.
I also got tendonitis from levaquin. What helped me the most was a combination of 1000 mg magnesium citrate, B12, one gram each of the amino acids DL Methionine and Lysine, and 100 mg hyaluronic acid. Read about menthionine online. It is very good to repair damage.
I`ll have to look into it when I have more energy- am sore and sick now and I just got home from work.
Is that medicinal?
Thanks!

I just went through a month or so of tight tendons and muscles that would tighten up just walking to my car. I live here in AZ where we get lots of Vit D (sun).. and one comment from my LLMD was that lots of Vit D and being on ABX will make one herx more... said to lay low on the Vit D and the herx would slowly go away.
And it did. My legs and arms are back to not tightening up like that. They are finding that Vit D does help make the biofilm thinner so that the ABX can work better.. and with me, I now believe it first hand.

I have been getting tons of soreness in my lower back. Throughout my experience with lyme/bartonella, I have always had awful soreness in my left shoulder, neck, etc.
Recently, while at the gym doing weight exercises, I noticed a sharp pain in my left shoulder.
I'm scared that the bacteria are actually damaging my bones, tendons, muscles, etc.
The fact that my back is now hurting is even scarier, as I wonder if my spine can be damaged.
I am praying that these symptoms will reverse as my treatment progresses.

The tendon in my left arm has become really tight and snaps. I first noticed this while receiving a deep tissue massage just prior to my diagnosis. I take Glucosamine daily and this symptom is getting better. Good luck to you!
