I'm obviously not a doctor. Nor have I officially been diagnosed with lyme (yet). But I did have a tick bite and I have all the classic symptoms.
I've noticed that a lot of people are saying that chronic lyme is not easy to get rid of, even with long term antibiotics. So what if we were to take the treatment further, with something like chemotherapy? Do you think this might be a quicker, more accurate way of eradicating any lyme bacteria hiding in the body?

Not a doctor but I don't think chemo would work.
Lyme attacks your immune system so chemo would not be a good idea.

No doctor would ever authorize it for Lyme, that is for sure.
I have heard of someone whose Lyme went away after chemo for cancer. It may only work with certain types of chemo though.

I'm just thinking, since Lyme is so persistent in staying in the body, and resistant to antibiotics... chemo would work really well to eradicate it.

I think building the immune system would work better. Once I gave my body the tools to heal, it did.

IV antibiotics is not unlike chemo in concept--flood the bloodstream frequently with a high dose of something that can kill the bad bugs. It has worked well for some people.
