Hello everyone, thank you in advance for your time and energy.
I live in the woods in an endemic area.
I have had a bullseye 3 years ago.
I may have had another acute 6 years ago.
I was treated both times with 14 day courses of Dox and Amox.

No symptoms the last two years until Feb of this year, I came down with Strep, a real doosie. Coupled with a lot of life stress, my immune system was compromised.

A month and a half later, I developed TMJ on my left side that left me with ear pain, short term localized headaches, and dizziness.

Slight co-ordination problems, balance off a bit. At the same time, a sensation in my right leg where the skin on my lower leg feels like it is too tight. (This is where my bullseye was three years ago).

Then I pulled a tick out of my right armpit in April, and two days later, I developed the same feeling in my forearm. I also have very tight shoulders and upper back/neck. Some fatigue (sometimes).

From late April to early June I was on Amox and Azith, as perscribed by my doc. Did that for a month with no improvement of symptoms. Then I had a blood test that came back negative.

So I went off the ABX. I am now seeing a naturalpath, and she has me on catsclaw, and some pau'd arco, and kelp, and magnesium.....but she doesn't know for sure if this is Lymes.

I have also seen a ENT for the earpain etc. and they even took an CT scan to look for anything odd, and that came back negative, but she did say I do definatly have TMJ.

Today, 10 weeks after the symptoms started, I still have the TMJ and related symptoms, and the leg and arm sensations, which now is more of a tendon/weak feeling in my legs , esp. the right one.

I also have had quite a bit of mild twitching, and that "pop-rock" feeling in some muscles and tendons.

My intuition tells me this is Lymes and I want to treat it properly. I am sensitive to ABX, and I am in good shape (athletic) and 36 years old. Any response would be appreciated. (What to Do ETC)

Thank-you

It sounds like it could be Lyme. I would post in seeking a doctor to find a lyme practitioner near you.

Hi:

Welcome to lyme net. Sorry to hear of your problems. First...just some education. It is "Lyme" not "Lymes." I know you are new (Me too), but thought I would share some tips as some people are sensitive.

It certainly sounds as if you may have Lyme and / or co-infections (Babesiosis, Bartonella, etc)

My recommendations is to see an LLMD (Lyme Literate MD) ASAP. They are the only ones who can help.

It's good you got on antibiotics (abx) early..but if it was from your regular doctor I almost guarantee the dosages were too low.

Check out the list of symptoms at http://www.canlyme.com/patsymptoms.html Any more than 20 and you can suspect lyme & co.

Also check out Dr. Burrascano's treatment guide at http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf

It sounds like it could very well be late stage lyme disease.

I would recommend getting a lyme literate doctor (llmd) and a proper lyme test from Igenex asap.

Lots of people here are sensitive to antibiotics but it's the first line of attack against lyme. People find abx that work for them or ways to desensitize to the abx.

I agree with six. And, if it is lyme, you will need a longer course of antibiotics.

You really need to begin your search for a real doctor...one who knows how to treat Lyme. You have been WAY undertreated and now you are suffering.

Here is a list of Lyme symptoms. I think it will confirm for you that this is indeed Lyme.

Go to Seeking a Doctor here so you can get names of drs in your area. I think there is one in WI.
