I was wondering if anyone has tried buying antibiotics online? I've heard that you can purchase pet meds without a prescription, and that the antibiotics they use on dogs to treat Lyme are the same as what they use on humans. Has anyone tried this? I'm desperate, no doctor will treat me and there are no LLMD's in my area... I think at this point I will need to treat myself.

I have bought other things from them and been satisfied. I have not bought antibiotics, though.

I just bought 100 tablets of 250mg fish amoxicilin from amazon. Is it safe to take and how much at a time?

Joel,
No,No,No, slow down. Do not take pet ABXs! Fish Amoxicilin???? Come on. That could be something for Fin Rot or lip fungus.

I've heard it's perfectly healthy and often comes from the same manufacturers.

Go to the seeking a doctor section. I can see your from Dallas. Post a doc find request. Someone will help you.

I already did. There are no LLMD's in Texas. The nearest one is 8 hours away and will not accept my insurance. I have no other option but to treat myself.

Joel, you don't by chance have acne or rosacea do you? Those treated with Ab's - so perhaps could do double duty? I have severe, painful dry eyes. I have a continuous refill for Doxy for 100mg/day for my eyes. I have never taken that much. Just 50 mg/day. I have half a mind (literally) to try them at full LD dose, but don't think I could handle it. Could you PM me with doctors you have researched in Tx?

Yes I do have acne, it comes and goes but sometimes gets bad. What do they normally treat it with? What kind of antibiotics? And will it help with lyme?

What about treatment without antibiotics ?
There are other types of docs, non-MDs, in Texas that may be able to help you.

not sure i believe in that holistic stuff. besided, they DEFINATELY will not take insurance. can't afford it.

I think acne is treated with Doxy. Not sure and don't know dose.

Good luck then.

YES, acne is treated with doxy. Make an apptm with a dermatologist. Don't let the word "lyme" even come close to your lips!!
First order of business though... GET TESTED FOR LYME!!
You should not treat something you may not have!!
Can you afford a $200 test? If all else fails, get a test thru Quest or Labcorp... GAG ME FOR SAYING THAT!!!
But at least TRY to find out what you are dealing with!!!

PS.. why use pet abx when you can order the real thing online? Doesn't make sense to me.

I spoke to another member who used Doxy for fish and it seemed to work for him.
As for online, I've used drugdelivery.ca about 3 times and it arrives within about 3 weeks. Some of their stuff is cheap but some is not.

PS... I just read on Joel's other thread that he got tested today. Yea!

Buy human meds, better way to go...
LOL.
The site I referenced has cheap abx, roxy is one they have that's a pretty good deal.

djf, I think you meant: www.edrugone.com Yes? 'edrudone' doesn't "compute"/connect at this end.

I got tested for lyme from Quest (this is probably the 6th time) and it came back negative.
