I haven't done my coconut oil forever like 5 months or so. I took 1 full tablespoon yesterday and within 30 min got a slight headache, rapid heartbeat, nausea and then the bathroom 10 min later. It lasted for about an hour and was done.
My initial thoughts were what a die off and was surprised also because I had been Diflucan for over a week.
Took some more in the evening with no rxn.
This morning I took some and w/in 20 min I was coughing up little bits of phlegm. I joked with the hubby that the oil was doing its job again.
This time however I got an itchy throat, tonsils, and a little in the ear tubes. I got panicky almost had a panic attack.
I reluctantly took Benadryl because I wanted to see how bad it would get and it has sugar UUGHH!!
The itch went away and now I am wondering if I have a sensitivity to the oil OR the BIG question can yeast die off mimic a food sensitivity if I have yeast in the esophagus.

- 1 full tablespoon of any oil may be just too much at one time. You might try a teaspoon instead - and as part of a meal. -

I always get a strange feeling in my throat from eating plain coconut oil. I think it is just something in the oil.
I agree with Keebler. One Tablespoon of oil could be hard on your system. I only eat little bits if I eat it plain.

Gosh, I know coconut oil is supposed to have some antifungal properties, but it is hard to believe that just 1 tablespoon could do that much antifungal that quick. It really sounds much more like food sensitivity to me (or chemical sensitivity perhaps depending on how it was processed).

- Even a small amount of olive oil by itself will make my throat a bit irritated. It's just the way it works for some people. With food, it's fine. -

I just started the coconut oil and fortunately I don't have a bad reaction.
But, I do get lots of sinus drainage within a half hour of taking it.
I've thought this is a good thing and am hoping it's because it's killing yeast in sinuses and nasal passages.
Just a theory, but if it's true I'm expecting it to slow down and stop (assuming I stay away from sugar and carbs).
Come to think of it I have had increased headache and heart pounding that comes and goes, but doesn't seem timed with taking the oil.
I assumed that is because I've also just increased doxy and cats claw dosage.

When you take coconut Oil for the first few times, or come back to it without using it for a while, it also speeds up your metabolism temporarily.
Possibly this aspect is also making a difference. It is basically pure, easily absorbed energy for the body.

It can be powerful in some. I had to start with a pinch.

It never did ANYTHING for me, one way or the other.
