I don't think I can afford going to my LLMD any longer or the meds. I've only seen him twice but I don't have any insurance and we just moved so my credit cards are maxed. I guess what I'd like to know is what would happen if I stop treatment? For the most part I think things are getting better. I don't have to take my pain pills nearly as often as I use to. Some days I don't have to take them at all. My biggest worry is that when I am able to afford it again My LLMD wont be taking any more patients. There are'nt too many in my state. What are the odds the symptoms will come back? Thanks for any help.

Sorry - don't have much advice for you except that I feel the same way. I've been going for a few years but have to travel to see my llmd. Even phone consults get expensive over the years. Medication is not always covered by insurance so that adds up.
But, I don't know where I'd be if I didn't continue treatment. At least I'm better than when I first started.
My only advice is to scrounge up what you can and continue treatment.

If you stop meds before you are symptom free, the symptoms all come back.
For me, it only took 2 weeks and I was sick as a dog again, plus terrible mental state, etc. and I was in bed crying like a crazy person.
That all happened when my lousy lyme doc had me stop meds to see what would happen. He was hoping I was cured.
So, what are the odds that the symptoms will come back? The odds are 100%.
You see, you still have the disease and the only thing making you better is the meds are killing it. Stop killing it, and they multiply again and do whatever they want to do to your body again with no resistance.
With my lyme doc, I can always see him again. Once a patient, always a patient.
Why not call your lyme doc and see if that is his policy also. And, see if he will give you more prescriptions that you can fill in future. Tell them you have a financial problem right now.
Maybe they can do something for you.
