Still very weak and achy today .... the weakness is hard to believe. I got up this morning and was determined to go downstairs and act normal. Well, the incredible feeling of being weak and then the achiness started again quickly reminded me that I am indeed very ill! I am starting to print out lots of the information different ones have sent me so that I can read through them and highlight areas that I want to keep and remember! I am going to be contacting a LLMD very soon in my area as well.

A question I have for everyone ... is there a point / symptom at which time I should get to a doctor or ER immediately? How do I know if I am "ok" to just stay home and wait it out until my next doctor appointment?

Kim

TN Kim,

If you want more specific replies - and a way to track those - you might copy and paste your post here to a new thread and then delete this post.

From your posting history, it looks like you've been ill for 5 weeks now - after a some sort of insect bite at a picnic. You have a rash (though not one that any ER doctor would acknowledge but could well be lyme) and a swollen knuckle.

You should get to a LLMD immediately.

If you have lyme, only a LLMD can help you. No point of even trying to get a non-lyme literate doctor to understand.

Why go to the ER? What do you expect them to do? Unless you think you are having a heart attack or a stroke, or have broken bones, there is nothing they can do.

I've been kicked out of the E.R. a couple times with seizures - and told they don't treat "lyme" even though that is not why I was taken there by ambulance. They just say in my chart history and refused to even assess the seizures. They told me I was trying to "throw myself off the table" ---- I have many similar situations and so do many others here. Get to a doctor who can help you.

The longer you wait to contact a LLMD, they longer the wait to get in. They are often scheduled months in advance.

Good luck.
