My comementary physician has prescribed a testosterone gel, because my testosterone levels are low. It apparently is thought to also help with immune deficiencies, and also mood. Has anyone else had testosterone therapy?

I'm also starting on IV rocephin this week.

While I do feel pretty beat up, I'm willing to try just about anything at this point, but I also want to be logical about my choices. I think it can be easy to want to try any crazy thing when you feel like this! I have to remember to be smart about it...

I am using DHEA a testosterone precursor, along with lots of protein and resistance exercise and
5000 u/day vitamin D and whey protein isolates and It all seems to be working. If I have any side effects on DHEA then
I would try the T-gel. Nice side benefit is my hair is getting thicker and previously it was
falling out. Also making better progress with muscle rebuilding.

Just be careful with the testosterone. I was on it several years ago due to low testosterone levels and zero sex drive. It definitely improved my sex drive, but my levels shot from a low of something like 16 to a high of 700-something within a couple of weeks, higher than most men's. I had to stop because I started to grow a mustache.

I think I'll try it, but will probably test my testosterone levels frequently. I don't want to take anything that isn't absolutely necessary! As it is, the supplements I have currently been prescribed are $750 a month! I can't keep that up for too long!
