Hi Ang13, welcome to lymenet.
Doxy can be pretty tough on your stomach. I know it says take on empty stomach but some LLMDs say eat something 1/2hr after taking it to help.
Take acidopholis & other probiotics to replace the good bacteria your body needs. Antibiotics kill both bad & good...you need to replenish the good.
Rifampen is used for Bartonella...Pain in feet could be from that.
It is an easy read on Tick Diseases (lyme, and its co-infections) plus lists of symptoms
keep researching hope you feel better soon

There is a search mechanism...it's next to the "post a new topic" under the "post a poll"
Use it to look up a antibiotic or symptom and you can read post from the past.
Lots of info has been discussed on lymenet.

ok thanks thats great, I will. I had a difficult night last night with some cramping and vomitting, I wonder if I should change my diet through this procedure? Is there a recommended diet?

Yes there is. Many try to eat foods to raise the PH.
Grapes/and juice is good for that. The nausea and vomiting can be helped by replacing electrolytes.
I like the mixes they make for vomiting and diarrhea. We also do something to prevent yeast.
Most take either Nystatin or Diflucan. I prefer Nystatin. Hope you have a wonderful LLMD to help you. Prayers for a easy road to wellness.

Thank you for the prayers, Second week on these meds and I feel awful...I have acid reflux so bad today after taking meds this morning, I've never experienced anything like this!!! I feel like giving up on the meds, between the icy tingling in my hands and the terrible pain in my esophagus, will this last the entire course of my treatment? I also feel like i may be developing a yeast infection even though i've been eating activa...my dr is 600km away so I really am finding this site helpful..thank you to all!

You could be having a "herx" reaction, which is when the drug kills some bacteria, and the bacteria release a bunch of toxins and make you feel sicker for a while, until your body is able to remove the toxins (="detox").
It is very common for people to feel worse starting within 3 days to several weeks of beginning a new drug, when the drug is working. The feeling may come and go in cycles every few weeks, interspersed with periods of gradual improvement.

You might find sleeping in a recliner helps with the reflux. Or elevate the bed at one end with some blocks.
