I pulsed mino for about 1.5 years. For the later half of that time, I did not feel that it was doing much, but my LLMD kept it in my regimen.
This spring, I stopped taking it (still under care of LLMD) and was on rifampin/zith, which was tough but doable for me. All in all, I think I was off of mino for about 2 months.
I then resumed mino, at the same dose. About 5 days in, I experienced a huge Herx from which I'm still recovering, now more than 2 weeks later.
In total, I've been treating for about 20 months. While this recent Herx did not take me back to "square one," it was a shock to me that the mino hit that hard.
With other abx, I've had the opposite experience, where in I Herx less the second time around. Just curious if anyone has had a similar experience with Mino, or any thoughts on this occurrence.

What are your main symptoms? This herx is unbelievable. I'm on mino 300 mg. for the last 2 mos. What kind of herx symptoms and what are your lyme symptoms? Feel better and thanks.

The symptoms were lots of inflammation, brain fog/lack of focus, and full body aches/pains. Fatigue was not bad, strange for me as that is usual worsened during Herxing.
I was able to get up and move around, but was so uncomfortable and unfocused that I missed days of work at my new job. So that had me feeling panicked.
I probably should have formed my question better. The Herx wasn't so unusual, what really surprised me is that this was my biggest Herx from mino, even though I had taken it before, for a long time.
With other meds (bactrim, plaquenil, tindimax to name a few) my biggest Herx happened after the first time I took them. With all of these meds I also stopped and resumed, but the later Herx reactions were less severe.
So it was strange to me that I had such a big reaction resuming mino. I'm taking it with zith, the same combo I was on before.
I'm still not out of it and it's been weeks, I recall the Herx started 7/1. I hope it is almost done running its course.
I keep thinking I'm almost done treating, then I hit these bumps. Really frustrating, but I am hoping and holding onto that I'm getting closer to well.
