Hi, my DC 57 is 296, and yet I am bedridden most of the time, racked with pain, etc. I have Lyme plus three coinfections. I thought the higher the CD 57 the better your body was doing.
Can anyone shed some light on this? thx.

I was told by my LLMD that CD57 is only affected by Lyme and not coinfections.

This is why my LLMD said they were not a reliable marker for degree of illness. He no longer orders the tests for his patients.

Dr. B and my Doc say the CD-57 is for lyme only. Not co-infections. If the CD-57 is high then lyme's role is most likely minimal.
You probably feel bad due to co-infections.

Its surprising how co infections can feel worse than the actual disease.

This is actually great to know, that it most likely my coinfections that are keeping me unwell. Progress, right?

I was coming to post the same thing as bcb. If the CD-57 level is high Lyme is not the main culprit at the moment.
I put a lot of faith in CD-57 as does my LLMD. He ordered the test, but I actually asked for it out of curiosity. He wasn't suprised by my results though.

I also never had a low CD-57, the only time it was measured, near my lowest point in my illness, was over 100.
I was told the same thing as noted above, that it is not always a good indicator esp. if co's are a major problem. My LLMD has stated that he things Bart is my biggest issue.
A high CD-57 doesn't mean you're not sick, just that the test is not a good measure of your illness.

The same as many above have mentioned. My cd-57 was always above 100 but I was severely ill. It turns out that I had babesia Duncani that was untreated.
Treatment of babesia has made a huge difference in my life.

My cd-57 was tested a month ago and it was 20. My llmd didn't really explain it to me but I read Dr. B protocol so I know if it needs to be above 60.

Dr. B says it should be a lot over 60, someone chime in-I think it's 200 Dr B says?
