I was treated for H. pylori in early May for 15 days. I have been suffering from gastritis for over 2 weeks. I now think maybe the H. pylori is back. I have taken omeprazole for 2 weeks with no relief.
I just started treatment for babs. I am taking omeprazole, Mepron, Biaxin, and plaquenil. Can I add amoxicillin to the mix to treat H. pylori?
I will call new LLMD but not sure how long it will take to hear back from him. I need relief ASAP.

Did your doctor do a follow-up test to confirm that h pylori was gone? My doctor did that, so I am assuming that one round doesn't always get it. Ask your doctor for a follow-up h pylori test.

No follow-up test. PCP said H. pylori showed exposure in the past but was not active and needed no treatment. LLMD treated anyway and stomach got better. I now have a new LLMD, so really hate to call because I am sure he will tell me to see my PCP.

I think I found a way to treat on my own by just adding Zantac 400mg twice a day (sounds like a huge dosage) because I am already taking Biaxin 500mg twice a day. I plan on treating for a month this time just to be sure. I will be on Biaxin for several months anyway.

Don't believe the tests for H-Pylori, they are not much more accurate than the Lyme tests. The testing can only prove you have it, but not that you do not.

Jennie46, My LLMD also told the same thing as Dan said. I was taking Prevacid, Amox and Biaxin for 4 weeks then went to LLMD who said that 4 weeks is not enough and I need to continue the Abx.Once I had to stop abx for 15 days but my LLMD told that to continue Prevacid. Then my H.pylori treament got continued for 4 more weeks.
Now I am not taking any of the Prevacid, Amox or Biaxin. My current treatmtment is with Doxy and Artmesia.

I do not know if you have access to a Rife type frequency device but H-Pylori is not hard to get rid of using one.
That is how I eliminated my stomach infection.

I would add back the amoxicillin for 2-4 more weeks, since you are already on a PPI plus Biaxin you should be fine with that.
Keep in mind that all these meds themselves can cause gastritis. Mastic gum can help for sure.

Be careful with the Reglan! My daughter had a dystonic reaction, very scary. I thought it was for regulating motility. I don't think it eradicates infection.

My dentist said you can re-infect each other so if you kiss anyone, drink out of the same glass etc. you may be passing it back and forth. She said it is best to treat everyone in the family.
My M.D. said there is no evidence that it is contagious. It does seem to run in families. I personally think it is best to treat the whole family.
I treated with the standard IDSA protocol via my M.D.. Then I continued with monolaurin which is effective for h. pylori and everything was fine until I went off monolaurin. I got the gastritis and reflux back shortly after that. It had gone away with treatment.
I believe Dan is right as far as the testing.

I don't have access to a rife machine...wish I did, but just can't afford it right now.

I agree with Dan...I tested negative for H-Pylori, but had serveral ulcers in the bottom of my stomach.
My gastro. doc said the ulcers were caused by the H-Pylori. And it must have been out of my system.
When I went to my homeopathic doc and he tested me, it was still in my system. Using herbs I was able to get rid of it.

Definitely do not take Reglan! Bad bad stuff.
You can try Manuka honey for h.pylori or mastic gum but the prev pack really does work best.
