so last night as falling asleep I felt like when i shut my eyes i was watching a very random fast movie on my eyelids then I felt like there was someone in my room, like a sensation, almost noise that someone had come in.....
I tried to move and couldnt, my eyes were open but nothing would move......nothing at all.......
It felt like a lifetime but was probably only 30-40 secs but in reality i dont know how long......
I have been off antibiotics 2 weeks for a break will restart on monday have been on anticonvulsants for 2 weeks..........
why now......and what causes this??????

this happens to me when i sleep on my back... it's been proven than sleeping on your back increases your risks of sleep paralysis... it's happened to me at least 6 times, but once i stopped sleeping on my back, it stopped.

This happened to me frequently when I was ill, before being diagnosed and in treatment.
Once in treatment, it happened more than a few times as well.
I don't know the cause, but empathize with you. It was terrifying!
It seemed to be connected to babesia, to me. At least, once we'd successfully treated babs - it stopped.
Hopefully, you will continue treatment and this will soon pass.

- A clue may be that you "have been on anticonvulsants for 2 weeks" - It will probably settle down soon - as you get adjusted to the new anticonvulsant medication. If it continues, be sure to let your LLMD know about this as a change in medication may be in order.
Your dose may be too high, you may have taken it too late -- or your liver or kidneys may need more support as most medications in that area can stress the body's total toxic load. Anticonvulsants caused it for me. I can't tolerate any of the anti-seizure drugs.
This can be scary, for sure. However, it can happen to anyone. If it comes again, just relax through it and know that it will pass.
Magnesium should help. Maybe you need a little more. Maybe take a look at your liver support and if you are getting enough water, as well. Dehydration can cause this. Be sure you have good mineral and electrolyte balance.
Also to consider is if you have any kind of vertigo or inner ear stress. When the inner ear gets so overwhelmed with toxins &/or stimuli, it can freeze the body, so to speak until it figures out which way is up &/or the toxicity is reduced so it's not so irritated.
You may not yet have searched for professional literature on this so, if not, here's a start: ----------

thanks keebler.........in actual fact last night i went with my 2 daughters to a 1 hr family event at the Y......I dont usually go out but she so wanted to go.......it was inside and i just stood for the hr and watched my yougest dance..............it was so great to see them both so happy, but i could feel it as soon as i got back into the car........
I wonder wether my nervous system was just irritated by the music and stimulation etc and it almost shut down so to speak...or as you mentioned the inner ear being over stimulated.......
I did put a call into my drs office and they said basically that......but they didnt know i had been out...she did want me to call her back again to talk about it a little more.......
I said to my husband this afternoon.......that its really sad that I cant tolerate even that........

It is very possible you were over stimulated. But I am glad you had a good time out...Mine went away with lots of treatment.

- Florence, what you did was HUGE, absolutely HUGE. Glad you made it home okay. Yes, I'd say your nervous system was overstimulated. With rest, and pacing, this should settle down. '
For an idea of just how little it can take to overstimulate the brain of a person with lyme:
. . . Lyme patients can be easily irritated by anyone just walking into the same room even though eye contact is never made or words exchanged. . . . -
