Just wondering if anyone had success with this combination.

What bugs are you targeting with that combo?

Annelet - sounds like you don't agree with this LLMD approach. If so, what would you suggest to be added or taken away on next visit?

PS - I did not test positive for any coinfection, but doctor thinks I may have bart as well.

No, I don't disagree at all.....I was just wondering as I had been thinking that it might be a good combo for me for Babesia/bartonella.

Geo, Is this your full current treatment combo?

Not criticizing it at all...in fact I actually came on here just now to ask about this very combo.

What exactly is your question or concern? Even I'm confused. From what I can see, Annelet is sincerely trying to help but just needs more clarification on your question.

I assume everyone on here has Lyme. Since your doctor suspects Bartonella, then I'm going to ASSUME you want to know if this treatment combo is good for treating Lyme & Bart?

From what I know, I would guess that:

1) Yes this could be a good combo for bart. It's not one of the stronger bart med combos, but probably hits bart enough to give your LLMD a better assessment of your bart status/load.

2) I don't know if this combo alone hits Lyme. That is my concern, and would appreciate any feedback about this.

Thanks for the replies.

Annelet and Erica - I was just concerned that maybe this wasn't enough and also wanted to see if the combo worked for others. Honestly, I am feeling better already. I have been treating for 2 months - first month was just azith and second was this combo. I see my doctor again tomorrow and I think he will get more aggressive. In addition, I am also taking: oil of oregano, GSE and vitamins including daily, magnessium and D3.

Overall, my doctor has received very good reviews, with the only negative being he is a little more conservative than others, which I am okay with, since I want to know what is/is not working and also I understand this is a marathon not a sprint. I don't want to take 56 pills a day and have gallbladder issues and not know how the meds are working.

Again, I appreciate any of your insight and as far as my input, I am happy so far with this combo and what it has done for me. It has been very tolerable for me and also allows me to be in the sun which doxy would not. Most neurological related stuff is gone but my joint pain has worsened which the doctor's office attributed to herxing. Nothing debiliatating and I don't take anything for it since I really want to know how I am feeling so I can give him an honest report when I see him. This particular protocol is not per Dr. B which concerned me a bit. I will have to ask the doctor.

Have a great day and appreciate any feedback.

I should mention I am also taking apple pectin to detox (just started about 2 weeks ago) and a supplement with milk thistle in it.

I have been on it since Feb. I am much better but can't get over that last little hump to "well".

This combo works better than anything else I have tried (and I've tried about everything for Bart), for controlling my brainfog/derealization. I think it also seems to control some of my psych symptoms....but that's harder to tell what is coincidence and what's the meds. I think it's the Bactrim/Zith that was also helping my psych stuff though.

I think the Bactrim was the more effective part....with the Zith being the "helper."

When I tried Levaquin, I was already on Bactrim, so it's hard to know if Levaquin would have worked as well......I didn't notice much from Levaquin, probably because the Bart symptoms were already basically gone from being on Bactrim.

So I can't really comment on the effectiveness of Levaquin vs. Bactrim.

But Cipro and Factive didn't seem to be as effective as Bactrim (tried those while not on Bactrim).

I can't say for certain what infection is being helped, but one would presume it's Bart.

Also, Rifampin did not help me much. But many people do see results with Levaquin and/or Rifampin, so those are worth trying too.

But yes, Bactrim/Zith was very effective for me personally.
