Supposedly our macrophages (picture them as pac men) aren't working because a precursor protein to make the macrophage activating factor has

a carbohydrate removed.

"Lost or reduced precursor activity of Gc protein was found to be due to deglycosylation of plasma Gc protein by

alpha.-N-acetylgalactosaminidase."

SEE a picture of this (Look at figure 1A and 1B):

(DBP is vitamin D binding protein)

"Our studies indicate that, ***during inflammation*** DBP-maf may function positively by

causing death of the macrophages when activated macrophages

are no longer needed at the site of inflammation.

In summary, we report for the first time that DBP-maf induces apoptosis in macrophages via p38 and JNK1/2 pathway.

Fab CB2 is BACTERICIDAL!

By inhibiting CB2, Bb maybe preventing its own destruction by our own antibody (mAB CB2).

And/or destruction of itself by the macrophages (because CB2 is on macrophages too).

The enzyme that removes the carbohydrate from a protein is this:

α-N-acetylgalactosaminidase (EC 3.2.1.49) is a glycoside hydrolase from bacteria

and animals."

Animals...us.

α-N-acetylgalactosaminidase

In Borrelia burgdorferi B31 - under Kegg enzymes under hydrolases:

This article seems pretty opinionated to be considered fair
