Starting tonite. Some people said bactrim was great, couldn't tolerate it. Anyone on rifampin? We're all different, but anything I should look out for? Thanks.

I have been taking rifampin/zith for 3 weeks. I did have a little bit of anxiety with it, to start, but that was it. But, I have heard others that have had increased psych symptoms with it. I have heard that it is a good drug, especially for bart. Be careful though...proceed with caution.

I would start slowly. We started our daughter with one capsule, then about a month later added the second. She is sens. to meds.
Got rid of her daily headache and helped the anxiety.
Best to you, Jane

I started with 300mg, for three days. I experienced air hunger (for the first time) heart palps, crying jags and "doom". Dr said stop. After about a week, I went back on, but started at 60mg (about 1/5 of a capsule.)
Then I went to 75, and today I am at 100mg for the first time. I am really, really med sensitive. I will keep increasing (probably over the next 10 days) to 300 mg again. This has been my experience; just thought I'd share.

the first week start at half dose and wacth out for the pycho feelings like your loosing it but stick with it was well worth it
1.more energy 2. brain fog gone 3. just better all around really pulled me out of a rut, then doc took me off because my amylase were to high and doc swiched me to tigarcil and i have been back in the rut ever since
now on myco it is supposed to be a cleaner rifmpin, but for me it's not as effective.
if you can last through the rough start, i bet it works wonders for yout, and don't take it alone for to long as it works even better with zith thrown in
