I had a jaw injury 16 years ago playing sports. When I first started feeling unwell in February I went to a Chiropractor who adjusted my jaw. (pre lyme diagnosis.)
It hurt like hell for a few weeks afterwards and then my symptoms exploded.
I got dx'd with Lyme in May.
Today, the jaw is much better, but it still is sore / stiff at times. I'm wearing a TMJ splint which is helping.
The problem is...I don't know if it is stiff / sore because of lyme or because of a TMJ issue. Also...my ears continue to feel full at times. this is a lyme symptom but also a TMJ symptom.
It is just so frustrating sometimes that you can't tell what pain is due to what. TMJ, Lyme, etc?
I'm feeling SO much better most days, but still have nagging symptoms like sore jaw, full ears, and tinnitus...all of which can be TMJ related and / or lyme related.

Yes, my jaw is so sore I sit with ice on it. One day it went to my ear and then up to my eye. My lymph nodes under my jaw were so sore I could not stand it. So I started researching and when I combined these symptoms with my symptoms of light sensitvity and the red pin point rash I came up with Bartonella, which I am now being treated for...just a thought

My jaw hurts every time I treat for Bartonella.

For me it is babesia that causes that jaw pain.
It is not uncommon when treating for one co-infection (like Bartonella)
That symptoms of other co-infections (like babesia) come to the front.
Talk to your LLMD.
Could you possibly have lancinating pain of Cranial V nerve?
Trigeminal?
May be worth looking at.
Hugs,
Geneal

I do but it's because I grind my teeth at night. Also wanted to agree with you about not knowing what symptoms are from lyme and what are just 'normal' everyday aches and pains.
ARGH!!

My jaw is sore daily, especially when I open it wide.
I am not sure if it is due to lyme, bart or ???
I also have tinnitus every morning, every night and periodically throughout the day.
It certainly gets worse when my symptoms are flaring or I am herxing
I used to wear a mouth guard to bed, as I was a teeth grinder, but didn't seem to help.
