I think we really have no idea how contagious it really is! I was told by my LLMD that 20% of Lyme cases are transmitted by mosquitos. The very thought is frightening.

Not sure about the bioweapon, although I have read the info concerning it. I can see it as a possibility.
Don't think it is that "contagious", but not saying its not either. All I know is I have been ill 4 years, my hubby does not have it, my children and grandchildren don't have it. No one in my immediately fammily has it but me.
If it were extremely contagious someone in my family besides me would have it by now.
It can be passed congentially, I think I read something like a 50% chance especially if the mother is not on antibiotics during her pregnancy.
The urine in the eyes is questionable to me, since it is so hard to even find spirochetes in the urine in the first place; and if you are lucky enough to find their DNA in the urine, it is usually the die off being excreted, not live ketes. More likely the scientist contracted it from another source.
Blood transfusions, make sense, however I have heard that Babesia is the most likely TBI to be passed via transfusions.

Lymies shouldn't share their razors or toothbrushes as microscopic blood products can be passed this way and infect others.
The viruses that go with Lyme disease can be caught like any virus can by saliva or nasal products.

im not so sure about all this. if it were that easy to spread by all these means, blood, urine, feces, tear, whatever. why is it so hard to find when your actually looking for it??? im with you sutherngrl, no one in my family has it either. and i've been with my girlfriend since i've been sick.

I had undiagnosed lyme, babesiosis, and bartonella for 10 years, happily married the entire time, sleeping in the same bed, etc. My husband never got lyme.
I was worried I may have passed it to him, so I had him tested through Igenex when I got to a good lyme doc who got rid of this horrendous disease for me. He was negative.
We are still married, and it is now over 5 years since I completed my treatment, and he is still perfectly healthy, and so am I.

I'm grateful to hear these stories...I started to feel "dirty" like I would contaminate those around me. I'm just gonna go ahead and live life to the fullest...
