Morning, having fun with newly developed hip pain. Only popped up after getting the bart diagnosis and starting bactrim DS.
Any inisight would be awesome. Posted by timaca (Member # 6911) on :
I've not been diagnosed with bart. I've had joint pain that comes and goes in all my joints.
You can't tell which pathogen causes this. Viruses can too.
I had left hip pain that came on suddenly (along with left elbow pain) last September. The elbow pain went away in a few days. The hip pain finally left me last month.
Best, Timaca

I've had SO much trouble with my left hip over the years. I have some minor injuries there which I think the lyme got in to--don't they love weak spots? Things have improve ever so slightly with 10 months, so far, of abx.

I've had right hip pain since I got Lyme, though it's gone the last few months. I'm pretty sure that's from Lyme in my case, because most of my pains have been on the right side. I had the hip joint pain almost every day. The other pains would come and go more. I had the hip pain for about 11 months.
I have not been diagnosed with any coinfections; if I have them, they are silent so far.
I have been gradually improving a little over the last several months, so I think the hip pain went away because I got better, but it could have just moved somewhere else because I did get a couple new ones around that time.

I have no idea but have been wondering. I thought I pulled something because the pain came on suddenly, but that was almost 2 months ago now and it still hurts.
It's right in my bone though, I'm scared I did something really bad to it like a stress fracture or something, or it could just be a "normal" ache and pain for me. I don't know.
I'm going to bring it up at my new LLMD's appt at the end of the month.

Are you lying around more due to the bart treatment? My hip pain ended up being fixed by the chiropractor. Same with my corresponding shoulder pain. I think all the lying around we do when we're sick has a negative affect on our bodies just as much as the illness does.

I used to get severe cramps in unusual places that felt afterwards like I had torn a tendon. That happened in my hip as well. It was not the bone but the muscle that hurt. It is gone now. . . . knock on wood.

I get very stiff when I sit at my desk at work for an hour or two. My leg and hip muscles/joints hurt the most when I first stand up. I used to have more joint pain, but now I have mostly muscle pain and stiff muscles.
If I sit around in my recliner chair on the weekend, it's not nearly as noticeable.
If I get a good night's sleep, I usually feel much better when I get up.
Just commenting because it's odd and counterintuitive--seems like the more I lay around, the less I hurt.
But it makes sense that if you move your muscles and joints less, they will be stiffer, which was always true for me when I was healthy and taking yoga classes.
The Lyme joint pains I have had are weird, because they're not ONLY in the joint (which you can tell when you shift your weight onto it) but usually also in a muscle near the joint.
I have had osteoarthritis in one joint for a long time, due to an old injury. Surprisingly, Lyme doesn't bother it at all, and if it hurts, it's the joint itself and some swelling around it, but not the muscles. It only hurts when I overuse it.

Large joint pain and head 'fullness' are more of a Babs related symptom,,,,,
