I have been taking Bactim 2x a day for a little over a month now. I have noticed that a lot of people are taking multiple meds at the same time, so now I am concerned that taking just one isn't aggressive enough. I asked my doctor and he told me just to take the one. I am curious to know what people on here think, since so many are so knowledgable about Lyme. Thank you.

Bactrim itself is a combination antibiotic. I took it for babesiosis and I got rid of my babesiosis that way. I took Bactrim DS (double strength) twice per day.
My doc said it also works against bartonella.
Why not study the Burrascano lyme treatment guidelines and, as your treatment goes on, you can compare it to the Guidelines.
It is always good to be as informed as possible about the disease you have. The Guidelines were written for doctors, so they are not an easy read. But, you will get your bachelor's degree in lyme disease by reading them.
Thank you so much TF. I try to read the Burrascano guidelines but I can't seem to remember what I read, unfortunately. I do continue to try though :)

My doc started me out with just one, lower dose first month, then added a second one the 4th month. Maybe your doctor is working you up slowly to multiple abx? Or waiting to see how you do on that one before adding more?
If not, it would be a good idea to ask him about his reasoning. Maybe he has another reason for it that you should consider.
It's definitely good to assess your treatment and your doctor's approach and see whether that is what you want to do. I don't think any of us just mindlessly do whatever a doctor says anymore, after going through so many doctors who told us to do the wrong things or didn't help us.
On the other hand, if your doctor's general approach to Lyme treatment is the one you want to try, and it's apparent to you that he knows a lot more about Lyme than you do, you should be able to put some trust in him and take some of the burden off yourself to know and decide everything.
