I just wanted to post a recent discovery I had. I have had intestinal issues since getting c diff a year ago.

Even after treating it intestinal pain, and bloating has not gone away. It is not all the time though and I always just chalked it up to a lingering mild case of c diff.

Then, my PICC nurse told me her son had similar symptoms and they releived them but cutting out gluten from his diet.

So, I tried it. Miraculously, bloating and pains have been gone, unless I have gluten or cows dairy.

I read an article while doing research(sorry, I didn't save the link) that in some cases, there is a link between abx use and inability to process gluten products with the theory being, the bacteria that process it are wiped out.

There are also people that are genetically predisposed to gluten intolerance.

I just wanted to toss this out there for anyone that might be having symptoms that wax and wane that cannot be figured out.

Cut out all gluten and dairy for a while and see if symptoms improve. symptoms can be dizzyness, and other mental disturbances as the toxins leach from the gut int othe bloodstream in addition to gastrointestinal symptoms. Then, try some gluten or dairy products and see what you can or cannot tolerate.

My dizzyness has improved as well.

I read something recently that said the new GMO wheat, rye, barley contain 90% MORE GLUTEN than they did 10 yrs ago!!

No wonder so many are finding themselves to be gluten intolerant!!

If you try the diet, be sure to see the list of foods to avoid at www.celiac.com so that you can give this a REAL trial run.

I did and in 10 days, most of my gut issues were resolved. That was about 4 yrs ago.

I've been having other gut problems in the past 2 months and my GI dr gave me an antibiotic, thinking I might have SIBO. Google that too if you are having trouble. (it has helped me some.. still have some problems)

After being diagnosed with Lyme and cos I found out I was intolerant to dairy, gluten and soy.

Never touched those things since (for the most part) and it has made a huge difference!
