Probably Igenex or Fry Labs.

www.igenex.com

I'll let others say which test as I'm not sure.

I have the copy of my own and it says "B.Microti Antibody G/M"

I am thinking Fry Labs. Look up Doctor S. I don't know if he is good nor not yet. But he is a dr. that is really big time into babesia. He wrote bookss on babesia and bartonella. Supposedly he knows which labs to use and what tests to get. He is not an LLMD per say, he specializes in co-infections it seems.

Just wondering, is this testing something that standard docs believe and treat or is it like the lyme tests where mostly only llmds will treat?

I did test positive on igenex. Just wondering if the same controversy exsists for babesia as lyme.

Pretty much. If they don't use Igenex or possibly Fry labs, then the test is likely to come back falsely negative.

I had a negative from Quest. Wondering if I should try another lab.

Igenex FISH

Clongen has PCR. Fry takes the photo.. whatever that is.. and then there is the FISH which is Im guessing a special way to test antibodies.

Ive had antibody tests from labcorp. First 3 years ago positive IgG. Not sure how much that means since it was a low positive or borderline.

I know it means exposure.

Fluorescent In-Situ Hybridization (FISH) does not test for antibodies, but rather genetic material (ribosomal RNA of Babesia) much more sensitive IMO.

I tested positive for B. microti at MDL lab in NJ by antibody titer. I was then treated with Mepron/zith. After that I was tested with every B microti test Igenex has and all tests were negative.

After 2 years or so of feeling decent i started to go downhill. I bought chloroquine & primaquine online for personal use. Within a few hours of taking chloroquine I feel SO much better.

Cost of chloroquine..........$2.50.

Cost of Igenex tests.............$1,000+.

anyone know the diff between FISH and PCR? Pros and Cons of each?

I think the PCR is DNA.. the FISH then is ribsomal RNA.

Fry labs tests for 28 species using PCR.. Clongen may as well.

I think its between PCR and FISH for me.

thank you!

My daughter tested negative for BABs from a couple of Labs. At Igenex for Babs the Babesia Fish was negative and the B Duncani also suggested no evidence of infection.

However, we are treating her for Babesia since:

she does have headaches (actually these showed up once we started treatment but have subsided),

day fevers (which thankfully after 6 weeks started to go away but come back with herxing)

sleep agitation (also started to go away but come back occasionally)

night sweats (still ongoing)

breathing issues (air hunger with any exertion)

fatigue (less now but still there)

Probably a few more BABs symptoms I'm missing but she still has plenty of Lyme symptoms as well.

Slowly we've seen some improvement and we are starting week 17 of Mepron and Zithromax.

From the Lyme symptoms I guess we still have a ways to go.

you might want to look into mold illness as well.. we found toxic black mold in our house.. the length of time of water intrusion most likely the same as the length of my illness. very similar symptoms as babs and lyme together

we just did a FISH and are also running a quest IgG, IgM and PCR.. ??
