I just received by lab results from Quest (I know they are a bad lab) and I am frantically trying to google what they mean. IGG is negative, but IGM has positive at 23 and 41. I tested for RMSF a month ago, and that is now negative. This was my first Western Blot.

LYME DISEASE AB (IGG) WB NEGATIVE
NEGATIVE
18 KD (IGG) BAND NON-REACTIVE
23 KD (IGG) BAND NON-REACTIVE
28 KD (IGG) BAND NON-REACTIVE
30 KD (IGG) BAND NON-REACTIVE
39 KD (IGG) BAND NON-REACTIVE
41 KD (IGG) BAND NON-REACTIVE
45 KD (IGG) BAND NON-REACTIVE
58 KD (IGG) BAND NON-REACTIVE
66 KD (IGG) BAND NON-REACTIVE
93 KD (IGG) BAND NON-REACTIVE

23 is VERY Lyme specific... so I would say you have something there.

Print this out and read several times:

It looks fishy to me too. Any positive bands should be taken seriously. My tests were also negative, but with IND (weak positive) on 2 different bands.

If you have symptoms, I would say you likely have Lyme Disease.

This is not a Igenex test so it will miss 50% of cases. Neuroscience's Lyme test that tests for T cell memory to lyme thus bypassing the antibody test. It is a great test.
Or get a Lyme Igenex test....

3 months past symptoms is a little extreme... two months should be fine

IGM+ means active infection...especially if symptomatic.

IGG response comes later on in the disease and is a more effective antibody response. Since lyme tricks the immune system, many folks with chronic lyme will have a poor IGG response.

I tested positive for IGM bands 23 and 41 through labcorp and my test was IGM CDC positive. 2 out of 3 bands is a CDC positive on the IGM part of the test. And as Lymetoo says 23 is very lyme specific. My doc says 23 means lyme.

I was tested by Labcorp dallas.
I still dont understand what this means either.
Lyme AB interp eia Positive
Lyme AB interpeia 1.17
then it has all these things that say
The value absent was changed by IF on 5/21 from no value
IgG AB
It shows at the bottom of the report
Lyme IgG/IgM AB 1.17 index H (0.00-0.90)
Negative <0.91
Equivical 0.91-1.09
Positive >1.09
Let me know if your's is like mine, and maybe we can compare and figure this out????

Ncaugust. You should consider heading east to see dr. F.

rmsfnc - I did see go to Dr. F...I thought she was great and she is the one that did the tests, but I haven't talked w/ her about the results yet.

Christie... I'm not that familiar with what an ELISA test looks like.. but I think you have a positive ELISA. That is very important, as most people get false negative ELISA's.

See if you can find out what kind of test you had.
