I am taking this 30 minutes before antibiotics. Does this seem like the proper time? I can really feel a difference with this - much more exaggerated tingling, numbness, fatigue, etc. Guess it really is a good cyst buster.

Yea, supposedly the chemicals from the manufacturing process are what have the cyst busting properties.
A lot of sites bash it calling it toxic because of the chemicals it contains from the manufacturing process, but when I put it next to Flagyl, the side effects and toxicity doesn't even compare. Flagyl seems to be a much more toxic chemical.
I'm actually really interested in trying GSE for these reasons. Some studies seem to imply that GSE may be even more effective than Flagyl.

I take 250 mg 2-3 hours after abx
Posted by geo (Member # 18333) on :
Thanks folks. Guess my thought process was to take it before abx so the cyst were busted then the abx could get to the bacteria.

I am not sure, but I think it is possible that GSE can react with certain antibiotics to increase or decrease their functioning. If so, it would be better to take the GSE far away from them.
If anybody knows specific details about GSE interacting (or not) with antibiotics, I would like to hear it.

So the 'cyst busters' break up the cysts and we need something to kill the germ as it goes into another form? Or do some 'cyst busters' actually kill the germ in the cyst form?
I've really been wondering about this.......

TIgecycline kills all forms. Samento/Banderol may--see Eva Sapi's latests study, but they may also make it worse (Martin Seivers, swiss researcher, said so). I got worse on them.
Also--did they ever find out if it was the actualy gse, as opposed to a toxic preservative, that was doing the cyst-busting?

From what I have gathered from researching it on the internet is that whether or not the compound benzethonium chloride is toxic taken internally depends on the manufacturing. If they just use the grapefruit seed extract and glycerin it is very safe and the chemical that results is SIMILAR to ben. chloride, but not exactly the same. I'm not a scientist of course, here's a site that explained it the best to me:
So, it's the chemical that is similar to ben. chloride that is effective against a variety of pathogens, not the grapefruit seed extract itself.
The brand name is Citricidal and I think that's what you need to look for in any brand of GSE that you are looking to purchase.

My practitioner swears by GSE -- Agrisept-L by Nutridiem is the one she likes. We have tested it though EDS testing and it appears to kill candida and babesia. My entire family is on it for these reasons. I think it got rid of my babesia, but I had a mild case. Candida levels are decreasing in all of us.
We take it diluted in at least 8 oz of juice/water with a meal twice daily.

I take 250 mg of NutriBiotic GSE Capsules 2x / day. Been doing it since day 1 of treatment in May. I take it 3 hours after abx.
This brand contains Citricidal GSE.

I didn't know that I could buy it in capsule form.
That would be easier to take, since I find it quite strong , even in water.
I put some drops of it onto a q-tip, and then I rub it all over my tongue.
I then suck on the q-tip, like a candy-sucker, for a while and this seems to work to prevent yeast in my throat and mouth.

I am on citricidal from naturopath.
3 drops, 3 times a day. Bitter. I add lemon juice to the water and put in all the bitter tinctures at once.
I take the abx at a different time anyhow so I can't help on that part.
Fascinating about the manufacturing process being what makes it a cyst buster.
I had been looking for why people here called it a cyst buster and so now I know.
I wonder if it is doing that while defeating the candida or if it's a different dosage?
I take it against candida so this could be a side benefit.... or eventually a primary benefit.

I'm curious, does anyone else notice herxing while taking GSE?
I've just started taking it recently since my LLMD recommended it because I was having a terrible time tolerating Tindamax. Starting in the evening of the day I take the GSE, I notice that my fatigue increases, flu-like symptoms, headache, increased muscle pain, etc. The next day too, then it starts to resolve by that night. Right now I only take one drop every other day because of this.
I was just wondering about other people's experience with GSE.
I'm also on IV Rocephin and Doxy.

tick battler: how much of your brand GSE do you put in your water?
so until I see the LLMD I think it would be best to have our son take it a couple of hours after or before his doxy dose?

My wife used GSE for a short time. It would make her Herx within 15 minutes.
Then I heard that the benzethonium chloride residue from solvent was the actual working chemical in GSE so I did not give it to her any more.
Since then I have found out that a natural chemical that is in the GSE that is very similar to benzethonium chloride may be producing false positives.
I am not sure which is the case, but here is the article that discusses the problem.
I agree with one researcher who thinks that the benefits of GSE far outweigh the risk from Lyme. I may start giving GSE to her again, if needed.

I highly doubt that my practitioner would use GSE if there is a toxic chemical in it...she is very careful about what she eats and the treatments she uses...she does not like abx b/c they are too toxic...She started my daughter on it when she was 3.
I think Dan may be onto something...could be the false positive thing going on.
I will ask her about this issue next time I see her.

Is Samento a cyst buster?
Posted by D Bergy (Member # 9984) on :
Samento did not seem to have any cyst busting properties from our experience.

Here is the first thing I found about that benz chloride claim when I did a quick google search:
They explain that it is similar to this type of chemical but is not the same and is NOT toxic.
Our practitioner thinks that Samento busts cysts but I have not heard this before.

texanmom - adults normally use 10 drops twice daily but can take more if necessary. My 6 year old boys use 5 drops twice daily. It's probably best to ramp up pretty slowly unless you don't herx much. My Mom had to start with one drop twice daily b/c she had so much yeast. Now she is taking 10 drops.

Which GSE is better? Drops? tablets?
Posted by bcb1200 (Member # 25745) on :
Not sure which is better, but tablets is sure easier (for me.)

I also have Alpha Lipoic Acid which is supposed to be a strong antioxidant. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to take both of these antioxidants at the same time so I don't.
