Hi All,
On my fourth month of Ceftin (2000 mg per day). I have had some herxing and am actually doing it again right now. Really weak, increased joint pain, really emotional, can't stand noise, low grade fever, etc.

Although I have seen some improvement on good days I'm getting frustrated. I know it takes time but wondering if I need to add some meds. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I head back to my LLMD the end of the month.

Maybe a macrolide and a cyst buster (tindamax or flagyl).

From Dr Bs guidelines, page 14

ERYTHROMYCIN has been shown to be almost ineffective as monotherapy. The azalide azithromycin is
somewhat more effective but only minimally so when given orally. As an IV drug, much better results are seen.

Clarithromycin is more effective as an oral agent than azithromycin, but can be difficult to tolerate due to its
tendency to promote yeast overgrowth, bad aftertaste, and poor GI tolerance at the high doses needed.

These problems are much less severe with the ketolide telithromycin, which is generally well tolerated.

What worked really well for me was ketek and IM Bicillin.

You'll need to add a cyst buster at some time.
