Oh no, I am starting to itch all over. It started with my right shoulder. I continue to itch it, but it doesn't satisfy the itch and I just keep itching and now it's moving - my head, back, arm.
I have been tolerating my treatment really well and haven't had any really bad reactions thus far. I am pulsing IV merrem and oral septra - going on the 3rd week of treatment. I add flagyl this week which I know causes major yeast problems.
Is the itching a sign of yeast??

It can be an allergic reaction to a medication or something else you have come in contact with. It can be a yeast symptom. It can be a sign that you need to detoxify.
I would try drinking lots and lots of water with fresh lemons squeezed into it. See if that helps.
Lemons and water help to detox your body. They are a good thing to do throughout lyme treatment. My lyme doc wanted me to eat 4 lemons per day throughout treatment as a detoxifier.
If the itching turns into hives (itchy red welts or raised itchy red patches on your skin), then you have to call the doc and stop meds to figure out which med is causing the hives.

Thanks TF. The itching has subsided, no big welts. Although my head still itches a little.
Did you actually eat the lemon..or did you squeeze it into water? I have been drinking lemon water, but not as frequently as you recommend. I will up it today.
How did you protect your teeth?

Hi jwall, I'm not familiar with your meds but I do know that the few times I've itched all over my body with no rash or welts it's either been yeast or as someone said, needing to detoxify.
One time I broke out in a bad vaginal yeast infection just days after the all over itching thing. Diflucan cleared it up.
Good luck!

I squeezed the lemons into the water and sometimes I ate the fruit that was left.
I didn't do anything to protect my teeth and they are fine.
I completed my lyme treatment over 5 years ago and I am still symptom-free, enjoying my life, and my teeth are still fine.
