This paragraph is from Wikepedia. I didn't realize that these were a risk for C-diff. Has anyone gotten D-Diff after taking the quins?
Fluoroquinolones are more strongly associated with C difficile infections than other antibiotics including clindamycin, 3rd generation cephalosporins and beta-lactamase inhibitors. One study found that fluoroquinolones were responsible for 55% of C difficile infections.

interesting... another reason why I hate quins

ALL antibiotics pose a risk for c.difficile, even Flagyl can cause it in some cases. Clindamycin is the # 1 risk offender, florquinolones are actually third behind the penicillins. Lowest risk are things like Macrobid.
Make sure you are on Florastor with all antibiotics and take probiotics too!

I can't take florastor as I'm on nystatin. But I do load up on probiotics.

Why can't you take florastor and nystatin at the same time?
I'm on florastor for ongoing GI issues and my "lyme friendly" doc just gave me a prescription for Nystatin to take with the abx that he also prescribed me.
He knows I'm taking florastor though a different dr. prescribed it.
