Hi, I saw my Nurse practitioner today and discussed by recent MRI w/many lesions. I have neuro symptoms but no positive lyme test. I am awaiting a visit to a neurologist at end of sept. to talk about the MRI (i.e. MS).
I told her I also wanted to find out if it could be lyme and she was supportive. She gave me a script for doxycycline and said that if it didn't agree with me she would try something else.
She gave me a referral to an excellent LLMD in MA on Cape cod, and hopefully I can get in to see him.
But she also said that "B vitamins feed the spirochetes" - is this true? I take a multivitamin/mineral supplement (which I think is responsible for my relatively good mental stability right now) that has lots of B vits. Do I need to stop taking it?
I kind of want to try the doxy to see if I either feel a bit better... or get a herx - either of which might indicate that I should pursue lyme testing further. I had a negative western blot recently.
thanks for your thoughts on this, misty

Some doxy advice-it's tough on the stomach so have food in your stomach before you take doxy, follow with a glass of liquid and don't lay down for 45 minutes or so.
Here's a quick & free way to assess the possibility you have Lyme
