I am CDC+ Lyme with symptoms of Bart.

I have severe GERD, with acid in my mouth upon awakening every morning. This got much worse after cholestyramine, despite Nexium 2X's per day and Pepcid AC before bed. I also take DGL, aloe, and other GI support, and apple cider vinegar. I'm really good with food, and reflux guidelines.

I'm on bicillin shots 3X's/week, rifampin, tindamax and DMSA for mercury.

Has anyone had GERD improve or go away on antibiotics? If so, iv or other?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I have GI appointment next week and am due for esophagoscopy and colonoscopy.

Apple cider vinegar can irritate the G.I. tract. You might see how you do without that. It can also cause a histamine reaction.

Treatment for h. pylori helped my reflux quite a bit. I took a combination of 2 abx, one was flagyl but I don't remember the other one. Also took a proton pump inhibitor as part of the protocol to get rid of h. pylori. This was a common treatment. I've been told many lyme patients have h. pylori.

Stress can cause flares of reflux.

Thanx for advice re: apple cider vinegar. I started taking it because some say it helps, and it alkalinizes. I will stop and see if it helps.

I have been tested several times for h. pylori with extensive testing (IgG, IgA and IgM) and am negative.
