I have tried everything natural to sleep. It does not work anymore.

I have tried most sleep medications and they do not work but only for a few days. Most make me feel hung over and dont give me rem sleep anyway.

I desparately need sleep. i may get one night of good sleep a week if that. Otherwise its few hours a night and sometimes none.

Let me know what helps.

15 mg zopiclone works for me

so i take it right at bedtime

I am still waiting to see a LLMD, but not sleeping is a huge problem.
I was prescribed xanex for heart palps, and sleep
before my lyme dx.
What keeps you up, or what wakes you up?
I hope we get some answers, and especially anything homeopathic.
I seem to sleep better in midday, than night.

i have the same problem. my LLMD gave me valium. works within 15 min for me. even though i know i'm tired, i would lay in bed wide awake or wake several times a night. with the valium i conk out right away and stay asleep for the night. it only helps with my anxiety and sleep problems.

good luck!

zopiclone is the best

I take 1 mg of xanex for sleeping, and it helps me to fall asleep, but not stay asleep. I can wake up and take half, or 0.5 again, but I am newly diagnosed, and the xanex was for heart palps they said was anxiety (prior to lyme dx). Can you maybe up your dose of the xanex? I never get any bad side effects and doesn't make me feel hung over. Hope you find something that works. I tried all the melatonin (sp) and none of what I have tried so far works.

just started back on gabapentin and slept like a baby last night for 10 hours !!!!!

gabapentin with zopiclone

I slept symptom free!

I woke up thinking I was cured but, alas, I am not, but I got a great sleep for the first time in over a year!

gabapentin is taking most of my nerve pain away as well! which was excruciating!

I had a problem both with falling asleep and staying asleep. Ambien worked to make me fall asleep, but I'd wake up in about four hours. I tried taking half at bedtime and half when I awakened but because it lasts for supposedly 8 hours, I'd be tired the next day.

We finally discovered Lunesta AND Lyrica worked. Lunesta would put me to sleep, Lyrica would keep me asleep. My LLMD said that Lyrica helps you to reach deep sleep.

Once I got well, I took my time weaning first off Lyrica, then off Lunesta over a period of 6 months. I still take 5 HTP for help staying asleep, but as my adrenals have healed, I don't know if I still need it.

Fortunately, going on Lexapro has helped my sleep patterns. To a point. But when I just cannot get rid of the racing thoughts, I take

Melatonin & the OTC sleep aid Unisom (doxylamine succinate). It works pretty well for me.

A doc tried me on Trazadone, but it made me so high, I couldn't walk straight, was dizzy, had strange sensations throughout my body & kept me AWAKE. Go figure!

I am so exhausted but just cannot fall asleep. The less sleep I get, actually the worse it gets.

Thanks for the tips! My doctor did not want me on Xanax but seems to help the most so I will see if he can up the dose. I wish Ambien worked but makes me feel drunk the next day. And Trazadone I agree, wierd side effects and still no sleep. I dont know how they say Trazadone has NO side effects and non addictive. Valium and Restoril used to work but no more. Lunesta did nothing for me. Magnesium, taurine, , melatonin, valerian used to work long time ago but cant even touch it now.

I think there is something wrong with my liver taking the meds and supplements out. So may work one day and the next day I am still feeling sick from it so may not work as good. In which, keeps me very non dependent. but no REST. But this is the worst its ever been.

Most sleep meds will have some side effects. I needed to decide if I wanted to sleep and deal with side effects or not sleep. I chose to sleep.

Trazadone does have side effects but it is not addictive. This is why some docs try to switch patients over to Trazadone.

One day I hope to be on natural sleep aids to help. Until then I'm following the #1 Burascano rule - Do Not Get Behind in Sleep.

My health declines significantly if I don't sleep. For the time being I'm taking whatever it takes to sleep.

My sleep improved within 2 weeks of starting bioidentical hormones.

After that, it has improved even more with consistent use of l-tryptophan and l-theanine at night followed by sublingual melatonin.

I also get off the computer before it gets late and lay down to watch tv in a dark room.

I keep my bedroom dark also.

I use bioidentical progesterone cream, Dr Wilson's Adrenal Rebuilder and two droppers full of Nutramedix Amantilla, works like a charm!
