When I pulse I stay off the meds until I can't take it any more. The longest was 3 weeks and 3 days but I think I waited too long. So much bacteria had come out that the die off was really bad. I feel that you need to pulse towards the end of your recovery in order to draw out the lingering bacteria. I did not pulse in the first few years of treatment because I probably would not have survived it. Hope this helps!

There is one LLMD that pulses abx M,W,F with a whole week off once a month. I tried a modified version taking the abx M -TH and then taking three days off. I relapsed in a month.
On one hand it seems like a really good idea to give your gut a break to keep it healthy. After all, that is where your immune system is located so your sure don't want to destroy it.
It also gives you a break from the side effects of the drugs, like insomnia, so you can rest which is a big part of recovery.
Supposedly pulsing allows your body to fight the disease on it's own but I wonder if it does not encourage resistance. I think it might be a good idea to change meds frequently if you are pusling so after the break when the bacteria have had a chance to build up, you are attacking it with something different.
Bartonella multiplies very quickly. Lyme not so quickly. Rifampin can't be pulsed as breaks and restarting can make you feel sick.
Sure wish I could pulse. When I take a break it feels so good. But the relapse doesn't and getting my health back when I have crashed takes a long time.

are there any pulse success stories on here
? my problem is i feel so spacey and my vision processing is just so kooky after only about a week on the meds, i have to tough it out just to make the 2 weeks on
this protocol seemed to be working good for me but 2 months in this week off i am now haveing realy bad blurry vision and bad fatigue
is this die off or what? any thoughts ?
Thanks Scott

You should check side effects of the abx you are taking to make sure none of them cause blurred vision. You may need to change to something else. I have found I can only tolerate the powerhouse of drugs so long and then I begin to have reactions. If I make a change I am ok.
There are people that are improving pulsing. Hope you feel better soon.
