My LLMD wants to put my dd on doxy and as he wrote out the script, he says, "and you know no dairy an hour before or after."
Wha???? Huh??? Where have I been? I took doxy 3 different times and never heard that.
If it's true, I must have read it on here on a day when I was brain dead.
So my question is, is Soymilk OK?
I really hope the answer is yes or I have no idea what my dd will eat for breakfast to keep the doxy down.
My picky eater either has cereal w/ soymilk or protein shake w/ soymilk, or toast. I guess she'll eat toast...

No, not ok to take together. Must be taken a couple hours apart. Calcium and other minerals that prevent the absorbtion of Doxycycline are present in most varieties of Soymilk

I took lots of ginger capsules,
but finally had to switch to minocycline.
I was just throwing up too much.
Maybe the ginger capsules will help.

I encountered the same problem with doxy/ mino.
I could not find a brand of soy milk that had no added calcium.
So, I use rice or almond milk.
But you need to check the ingredients and nutritional info to see if calcium is added or not.
Sometimes the "original" version has no added calcium, but I don't think the labelling is consistent.

Oh, great idea, Pippi! I'll start looking for some!

Tutu is right. Soy isn't good by all accounts I've heard.
Try vanilla almond milk. My kids actually prefer it now over "real" milk.
And I never remember hearing about spacing doxy or mino away from dairy either FWIW.

You need to space doxy and mino about 2 hours away from diary. Take it in the middle of a big meal. It will save the stomach that way.
