I'm new to this website, mostly because I'm looking for answers..
I was bitten by a deer tick this June (its now October) and took the 14 day antibiotics shortly after. I wasn't able to take the doxycycline.. because I was in the sun for most of my day and that would have made me more sensitive to sunlight. But I did take another antibiotic used to treat Lyme.. (unfortunately I can't remember what it was off hand)
At that time my white blood count was normal.
Since that time, I've been experiencing prolonged mild fevers between 99.7-100.5 for long periods of time (weeks).. and just generally don't feel great. Now in October I'm experiencing (other than the fever) a great deal of anxiety. I'm also experiencing pain in my thumb joints and neck..
Has anyone been through something like this? Does this sound like Lyme? Should I look into finding a dr to get it confirmed? Is it possible that the antibiotics I took in June didn't work well enough!
Please help!

I would find a LLMD asap. Even if you don't have it, this isn't something you want to mess around with. Seems like the longer you have it, the worse you get. I would give anything to go back two years ago and knock down the doors of a doctors office insisting I had Lyme and to help me.

Two weeks of treatment is WAY too little to do anything for Lyme.
You really need to find an LLMD... Lyme Literate MD. You will likely have to travel as there are no LLMD's in IN.
You may have a coinfection along with Lyme... that is a VERY common occurrence. That is another reason a regular GP or PCP won't know how to help you. Giving you only 2 wks of abx is a big clue that your doctor is ill-informed about Lyme and coinfections.
Lyme and coinfections symptoms list and other important topics:
Your symptoms sound like lyme and Bartonella. Get to an LLMD for proper treatment ASAP!

Sounds like you were under-treated. The antibiotics should have been for a month past any symptoms, six weeks minimum. Check out Dr. B's diagnostic and treatment guidelines at www.ilads.org
I would say you most likely still have Lyme. If you post in seeking a doctor, someone will give you the names of Lyme practitioners near you.

YES. Sounds like Lyme and bartonella to me as well. There may be other coinfections too.
You have found a great site here - keep educating yourself and get a good LLMD. Not all are good with diagnosing coinfections...that is very important!

Update:
Today has been a very rough day. Woke up with extremely stiff neck. Feels like my lymph nodes are the size of plums. Pretty severe headache. Overall Zombie feeling with temps around 100. Unfortunately there are no LLMD's in the Southern Indiana area and I don't have the resources to travel a great distance to see one. I'm thinking about checking out an infectious disease doc in my area since I'm feeling pretty terrible.
