Hi all, I get this from time to time even when I'm taking a break from my antibiotics. Out of the blue--itching--like I said, no hives, no read marks. Even my scalp itches with no flakiness.
What causes this? Does killing germs set off a histamine reaction? What about when you're not killing any bugs?

I just came on here to ask about intense itching. This has been a HUGE problem for my daughter for years. We tried to find out what the problem was, but nobody ever really helped us.
It moves around. For a long time, it was her legs. Once she started treatment, it moved to her upper back. Now she seems to be itching everywhere.
She puts hydrocortisone cream on her skin, and she takes hydroxizine at night.
@Loonie. Sorry I don't have any answers for you. I wish that my daughter's itching would go away when she is on antibiotics but nothing helps.
Is there anything else that we can do??

YEAST! YEAST! YEAST!
Are you taking Nystatin or Diflucan? Are you taking antifungals? Are you following the lyme diet?
I had this for years before my Lyme dx and it has gotten worse every time my yeast isn't in check.
You may want to consider it.

It is from serotonine produced from reaction of the body to infection and cells demeged relese serotonin including bugs, parasites, and babesia to.
Do not use steroids .
Our body have to find the way to react properly so if it is just itching tray to find what helps to kalm but stay away of steroids and take planty of B-complex and magnesium and detox.
Uhen I started to itch mainly in extremities but also my body was itching that was the time when itch switched the pain and bad stuff of lyme.
Treatment and good detox will take care of that .
