after doing $2000 in testing i just received results back from my LLMD and im low on free testosterone. he sent me a prescription for a couple of things but im a bit leery and was looking for input.
fludrocortisone, to control aldoserone deficiency symptoms. isnt this a steroid? isnt that a no no? is this safe to take?
then a scrip for testosterone compounded cream in PLO or other base. 1/5 cc daily.
im sure most dont have experience with this but if you do any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Dr C in MO your LLMD?

You can always try it. If you don't feel its for you stop.
If it works you will know it.
All the hormones work together and replacing just one may or may not get things moving.

I am on Androgel rx testosterone per LLMD. I was shocked recently when I found out my insurance is paying $700 per month for it. It's not yet generic in the USA, however there are reputable overseas pharmacies you can get overseas tetosterone from for $ much cheaper.
I don't know why your guy is using a compounder unless it's a lot cheaper than Androgel.
It certainly makes me a lot hornier, but I don't perceive any other effects!

I take florinef. It's not the bad kind of steroid. My husband has taken testosterone for quite a few years. He has used androgel, shots and now compounded. The androgel was a lot of gel to rub on every morning and he got tired of it so went to the shots. Now his new Dr gets it compounded and it's a much smaller amount to rub in his skin and no more shots. It really helped with his stamina and fatigue. It's not made him hornier(Thank god) Guess I could get some of it if it did........ You must be feeling pretty bad with those 2 things low. Florinef helped me feel batter as well as take care of the B/P. Hope your feeling better soon.

I couldn't tolerate the florinef. It just made me swell up and be ravenously hungry. NO GO for me. I don't think it's a good thing to be on long term. Make your decision based upon your symptoms.
I take the testosteone compounded cream and it is not that expensive I don't think. I'll look it up.
It has really helped me with energy, muscle tone, and yes, libido. I think it even helps with depression.

I've been on Florinef for almost 9 years now. When I first started it the doctor who put me on it had me begin with a whole pill.
Usually I do not need to ramp up on meds, but with this I did. I got swollen and quite uncomfortable, after an initial improvement.
When my current doc had me go on it I started with 1/4 pill at a time. I haven't had any problems since then.
Compounded testosterone is a lot less expensive than Androgel.
