Hi. I'm really confused as to why my head wont stop banging, but its severely debilitating me. I started new treatment a month ago on OMNICEF for two weeks and then added mepron and zithro for two weeks. Due to becoming extremely ill and losing my brain, mostly, and headaches I am now only on the mepron. yet my head is still banging severely. SEVERELY.
Now my nose is stuffy so this could just be a sinus infection? the head ache or migrane is all behind my eyes and eyebrows and frontal head.... It's really hard to tell because the pressure seems to increase with the meds, specifically zithro..Its like i feel like my whole head is inflamed.. but i just have no clue since I've lost my mind the last month. Could anyone help me out? I still can't think clearly, even after backing off the drugs.
Has anyone else had similar bad reactions to these drugs? Any suggestions...

I am having similar symptoms as yours. I am taking Malarone, Zithro, Omnicef, Bactrim & pulsing arteminisin to treat babesia.
I have almost constant migraines and swollen nasal membranes, but no nasal drainage.
I believe that my symptoms are caused by the medications killing babs. I have backed off the meds and have gotten relief from the constant headache.
When I resume the meds, headache returns and nose gets stuffy again.
So I don't think it's a reaction to the drugs, but rather my reaction to the effect of the drugs killing babs.
Hope you get through this and feel better soon. Are you doing any detox?

I took zith and malarone had headache for two solid weeks, was told zith does an excellent job of crossing the bbb.
my own personal way of thinking is it attacks the lesions that lyme deposits in our brains each time I have done zith , followed up with flagyl then minocycline most of the fog has been lifted and I have seen major cognitive issues improve and my reading and writing skills have improved also.
if you can tough it out I personally think the benefits will help you once you get passed the headache , i've done zith 3 times now and all 3 times the headache lasted two weeks !

Hey, I have been having horrible headaches with this as well.
Especially with the zith. I have pressure headaches, ear pain, ringing.

Sure enough the headache has gone. stopped the zith last week, and the mepron 2 days ago, tried it again last night and still no headache.
It was so unbearalbe and worrrying. I will slowly work my way back to taking the meds. hope that is not gonna mess up the treatment.

For detox im dong lemon water.
I was doing charcol at night and clay inbetween abx doses. My new doc told me not to do that , that it absorbed the medicine. Is this true? I mean i think the charcol at night was the only thing helping my stomach to handle the meds. I thought if u wait enough hours your ok. Anyone else got ideas on this? very much confused.. :?

I couldn't take zith, it caused too much of an inflammatory cytokine response (according to my LLMD). I could take Biaxin though, just the zith was a problem.

Lenire, Babesiosis can cause severe headaches for some people. I am one of them. When I have Babs, the headaches can be unbearable at times. For me, it gets better with treatment.

why if this is the case do the headaches only happen when i take meds. i mean these are definate migranes i think.. so specific places behind my eyes and front of my head.

I would get the same thing and do think part of my issue for me was sinus related.
I addressed the sinus/allergy stuff with some meds and the heaches/eye pain et al decreased about 50%. Combo of mucinex, sudafed and veramyst or astepro helped with my symptoms.
Biaxin always gave me a headache - even when I took it before I had lyme. It is one of the common side effects.
SOmetimes it is hard to tell what is what with all of this. Secondary infections? Side effect vs. herx?
