I have not been diligent about supporting liver and enzymes are on the high end of normal. I'd like to bring them down. What is the best way?

Milk thistle (=Silymarin).

Mine were way over normal. I was on Malarone so I couldn't take Milk Thistle. Same if you are on Mepron - no Milk Thistle. My doc recommended I take NAC, Sarsaparilla Root and Phosphatidyl Choline.
I took the first month and my blood work was good but then I got lazy and skipped days and they went up again. So now I am much more diligent and I added in Milk Thistle since I am off Malarone. So far ok again.

CD,
My husband is also on Malarone, so no milk thistle for him either. He has had very good luck with a product called Extended Health Liver Support Formula. The ingredients are artichoke and sarsaparilla. Even when he was on a megadose of Amoxi, his liver enzymes stayed within normal limits. I have ordered it from professionalsupplementcenter.com .

- Artichoke and sarsaparilla are both excellent. Sarsaparilla needs to start at a low dose. You can find a full page about it at the One Earth Herbal Sourcebook links, in the thread below.

My Liver enzymes were always high, til I discovered colonics. They have been fine ever since.

My liver numbers have always been good. When not on Mepron I took Milk Thistle. When on Mepron I use NAC and my numbers came down even more.

Has anyone ever used coffee enemas to bring down liver enzymes? I'm in dire need of bringing them down and that was suggested to me.

thanks so much, these are great reco's.
Mcaringella I've done these and they work great, but have to be done often and are a colossal pain.
I've also heard about something called Liv52...

I like this web-site when it comes to liver function:
Food to Promote Proper Liver Function and Detoxification:
If you can't juice, steam beats, beat greens with sweet potato and onion. Slap on some butter and eat every day. Start with a couple of tablespoons working upward. The beets should detoxify and provide the nutrients your liver needs. Steaming will probably ensure your not detoxify too fast. Again a couple of tablespoon to start working toward 1/2 cup to a cup a day.
Also save the juice from steaming, drink the juice during the course of the day.
Do this for about a month and stop for a month. Over time it will help rebuild the liver to top form. Doing the other recommendations above is also very helpful.
