I am a 45 yr old male. I have had LD for the past 6 months, and I am currently taking 400mg Doxy a day. I have developed symptoms of low thyroid: low energy, sensitivity to cold, brittle/graying/thinning hair, forehead acne, minor facial swelling around nose and forehead, very low libido, ringing/air rushing sound in ears.

I have no insurance and can't afford to see an MD for a thyroid test. Is there anything I can do for this in terms of inexpensive and OTC natural supplements? I have been reading about tyrosine. Any advice about it or anything else I can do?

Dr. T has a website and a book on sugar addiction where he discusses taking Iodine and a thyroid supplement you can buy from his website "endfatigue"

That 'air rushing' symptom...would you call it a pulsing rhythmic 'wooshing' sound? I actually just had an MRA of my COW (circle of willis) to see if I have an arteriovenous malformation.

Our doctor is using 225mcg of Iodine (kelp based) and 200 mcg of Selenium ( Life Extension brand ) to try to get my son's thyroid back in the normal range ( he tested only slightly hypo ).

Have not had it checked again yet but seems to be helping.
