Perhaps this may seem grossly naieve, but I was wondering what questions I should ask my health insurance company about coverage for Lyme. I have options within the United Healthcare (some more costly than others)as in a PPO or HMO but don't really know where to start. I am pretty sick right now and don't know where to start. I have to make a decision wihin the next 2 days!
Thanks!

If you are having to chose between a PPO and an HMO I would go with the PPO. They usually have better reimbursement for an out-of-network doctor.
Most LLMDs don't take insurance, so you have to submit for reimbursement as an out-of-network provider.

personally, I would not flag myself as a Lyme patient!!! ppo is the way to go for ease of use and least amount of referrals and costs across the board... good luck you can always pick one and change in a year if you don't like it...
