Will the abx reduce my appetite or is it lyme? Not sure of my exact bite date but most likely sometime early summer this year and I was eating just fine. But since I have started mino last week I don't really have much of an appetite. And I am supposed to up the dosage gradually so will that affect my appetite even more? I am really trying to eat veggies and drink water but can't eat much. I have already lost quite a bit of weight since this summer (before I was knew what was wrong with me).

The antibiotic can definitely do it! Malarone and Biaxin took away my appetite and made me nauseous and I lost 15 lbs. in a month and it wasn't pretty.
My LLMD thought it was the lyme but I knew it was the antibiotic. When I quit the ones above - I got my appetite back and was fine.
Listen to your gut. You know more about yourself than anyone. The doctor can help you but you have an equal part in that equation.

p.s. - I wanted to quit that abx so much - but I toughed it out and I'm glad I did - because it worked and feel much better.

Doxy without food does a number on my stomach. Try taking it with a meal, midway thru. Wonder if we share the same doc ? Dr H , is it?

Funny thing - now that it has been a month later - I do have an appetite simply because I think I am not keeping any food in my system.
I think it's prob yeast that is causing all this diahrrea and loose stools.
I don't know what to expect anymore - each day/week brings a host of new issues.

Just a thought. Babesia causes anorexia in some people. I have never had the problem.
Treating one infection will allow another to emerge and you can think it is a side effect of the abx. So if you are treating lyme, babs might be presenting or something else. I quit abx twice thinking it was causing my dizziness and headache. It was babs coming out.
