I know I keep posting about this but I'm really not sure what to do!
My LLMD has been treating me for the past five months for babesia. My current antibitoics are mepron, clindamycin, zithromax. I'm also taking artemesian.
Before treating the Babs, we knocked out baronella primarily with levaquin. Now the bart has returned.
What should I do now?
Option 1: Should I take mepron, zith, Levaquin? Although Dr.B's guidelines says that prior use of quinine-like drugs including atovaquone (Mepron, Malarone) may render Levaquin less effective.
Option 2: Should I take mepron, zith, rifampin? I have read of rifampin rendering malarone/mepron less effective. My dosage of rifampin is 300 mg per day.
Option 3: Who knows???
I called my LLMDs office and she said it's my choice (I can use levaquin or rifampin)! Can you believe that? Now how am I supposed to decide or know what's best.
I pray that someone can give me some guidance. Please.... Any help would be appreciated.

Hi I am just curious on something. How did you know that you knocked out Bart and how do you know that it has returned? Like what are/were your symptoms?

My Fry test reflected a picture of the Bartonella Like Organisms (BLOs) on the slide.

I was on Bart abx for 8 months making progress but always hitting a plateau.
Six weeks ago, I started taking Mepron, Zith, and Bactrim DS, which addresses both coinfections, and am very pleased with my progress! I really feel like I'm over the hump.
When I'm done with Mepron/Babs, I hope to take Rifampin again to clean up the remaining Bart.
