Hi All--

Over the last 20 or so years I have been able
to get Zero sleep at all --
Maybe 3 or 4 hours per month sometimes-

In the last year I was able to get and take One 10mg Valium and 3 Amtriptyl HCL 25mg and
get about 8 hours of deep sleep per night-

I would dream and feel good and rested when I woke up --

About a month ago I went to a Sleep doctor
and he wanted me to try Ambien --

The Ambien REALLY Dinged me out so I have
only taken about 3 or 4 of them --

BUT Now --

I fall a sleep several times a day
if I just lay down to watch TV news-

or last night I saw about 2 minutes of a
PBS Nova show that I had been waiting
a week to watch --

I have been waking up in bed laying
on my reading glasses on having them smashed on my face -LOL

I can now take a nap in the afternoon and sleep several hours which is something I
have not been able to do in 20 yrs --

I just slept from 7pm to 5AM and woke up
one time for about 1 hour in the middle
and this was with Zero pills --

The ONLY thing that I changed was taking the Ambien just a few times --

So I think the Ambien has Flipped the sleep
switch that has been stuck in the Off position
for the last 20 years --

I just woke up about a hour ago and wrote
this and now I am going to lay down again
and see if I can get a few more ZZZZZZ --

I do the same thing. Not such a long time though (twenty years) but since I've been treating my lyme (3 years) I go back and forth-one year- pills, pills pills to sleep, then bang, I'm falling asleep at the wheel (not really, but I feel like it)

Do you feel rested when you wake?

Sleep is awesome! Glad you got that switch flipped.

Same thing happened to me when I had a bout of pancreatitis... The switch flipped on and I've never needed sleep meds again. Amazing.

Here's hoping it stays this way -

ZZZZZZZZ -

That is wonderful! I sure hope this continues for the rest of your life. I can't imagine staying sane on only three or four hours a month so you must feel much better.

I love it when I sleep normally. It is a blessing that most people take for granted. When I fell asleep watching TV it was like a miracle had taken place. I am the person that can't sleep in the same room with anyone and is wide awake if the cat walks across the carpet!
