Is it worth the money, 500.00. And you have to be off antibiotics for at least 3 days...curious if anyone has done it.

Yes, I have done the Metametrix test and have only recently received the results. In the future I plan on trying to apply this to my insurance, however, as of yet I don't know if I am likely to receive any coverage. I, for one, believe this test is worth the money with or without the coverage. As you probably know, Lyme and it's associated diseases can make virtually any or every organ environment in your body prone to problems and complications. Your gut is no exception. We Lymies can provide optimal conditions for anything from yeast to bacteria to parasites.
My own results revealed that I have a parasite, although the taxonomy is reported as unavailable. But if there is something in your gut that shouldn't be there, this test will cover all of the most likely suspects. Since I got my first positive lyme test results, I have been doing my best to fill in the rest of the puzzle that is my illness. So I do my research and converse with my doctor and take the tests, because I would rather know than not know. If you get back negative results, then it's good because you get it off of your mind. If you get back a positive result, well, it's too bad, but it is also good because then you know you can more effectively address your health issues.

I thought the test was worth it, and was very helpful as well. I learned that my body isn't producing pancreatic enzymes, and that I have imbalances in crucial things like butyrate, etc.
What was also interesting was that I tested positive for a number of parasites (but nothing else), and one of those parasites is listed as "unidentifiable". I'm so curious as to what that parasite really is!
Pandemonia, when you say that the parasite you tested positive for's taxonomy was unavailable, do you mean that they couldn't identify your parasite either? I wonder if this happens to a lot of lyme patients. Perhaps it's babesia or another co-infection. How interesting.

Yep....it's a mystery parasite! not sure if some more testing is in my future or if there is just a standard treatment that is likely to be a fix. Guess I'll find out soon.

I am taking my short break from antibiotics so that I can do my test next week.... hopefully I'll learn alot.
I also heard that it can take 4-5 weeks to get the results, I have my package, so we'll see.
