I am about to start levaquin. My dose is 750. I am just wondering what dose others have taken who have experience with this drug. I was also prescribed zithromax to take with it, but I know I read that Dr.B said to not mix macrolide type drugs with levaquin. Any thoughts? Also is it wise to cut the levaquin dosage to start off slowly?

Levaquin is very tough. my dose is 500 mg per day with rifampin.
I cannot tolerate the 500 mg. for any length of time. I am splitting the 500 mg capsule and taking 250 mg day hoping to work up to a consistent 500 mg.
This is my 3rd attempt at this drug.
Levaquin is usually used alone, however, a few docs are pairing it with rifampin....
good luck...oh and load up on magnesium and vitamin c before and during levaquin tx.
