Hi all -

My COBRA is about to run out. I live in the midwest, but am currently seeing a LLMD in California and will probably be getting most of my treatment out there, as we can't find LL docs in our state.

Luckily, I am eligible for High Risk Pool coverage through Medica. Their extended network is United HealthCare.

My other option for insurance is trying to get accepted by my current insurer -- HealthPartners and their extended network of Cigna.

Neither option I have covers out-of-network care well, so I need to figure out which extended in-network situation is more likely to be generous in their approvals of the meds I'll need. Since I have cardiac and nuero involvment, it's likely to be extensive, long-term, and involve IV for phases.

Does anyone have experience using the Medica network or United HealthCare, or HealthPartner or Cigna while on long-term IV antibiotics, or other complex oral combo tx for Lyme and co-infections?

I need to make a decision on this in the next few days, and any information or ideas would be helpful. Please private message or email me ([email protected]) if you have specific info that wouldn't be good to have posted publically....

Thanks!
flossie
