Is Zith usually only taken once daily?

Twice for me (250 mg each). Recently added Rifampin. I've been on them each separately. Now, for the first time, I'm on them together. I think it's going to be good.

Does Zith stay in your system longer than other abx?
I take 500mg once daily. Is that sufficient enough to treat borrelia?
So if given twice daily, it is less than 500mg?

From what I understand, it should be a minimum of 500 mg per day. (Can take up to 1200 mg per day, according to Dr. B.)
