Anyone had good experiences with Bactrim and Roxythromycin?
Especially for Toxoplasma and Babesia?
"Thus, roxithromycin could be a worthwhile alternative to current therapy against toxoplasma infections"
"Roxithromycin has also been tested to possess antimalarial activity.
Is Roxythromycin also active against Bartonella?

Is Roxythromycin in Combo with Bactrim also active against Bartonella?

You probably won't get many responses because Roxythromycin is not available here in the US.
It is a macrolide antibiotic so I would assume it might be effective against Bartonella when combined with Bactrim. A similar combo would be Zithromax or Biaxin with Bactrim.

Bactrim is used to treat Borrelia and may have some effect on Babesia. Bactrim has often been used to treat urinary tract infections. The LBb spirochetes are always in the bladder, so Bactrim can be an effective tool.
Bactrim is not for bartonellosis.
But I'm not a medical professional. Can you ask a pharmacist, Stefan?

1 month of Roxy/Plaquenil/Artemisinin brought me from 40% to 95% functioning. Still feeling good ~90% several months later w- no additional meds knock on wood.
I had the Bactrim available but wimped out on adding it as I'm not sure on the sulfa thing & me and did so well on above combo.

I read that Dr. H uses Bactrim Ds, Biaxin (or zithro) and mepron when a patient is infected with babs, bartonella and borellia.
I used roxithromycin for a short period of time with Bactrim Ds and did not notice much difference between it and zithro or biaxin. But I have read it is the only macrolide that crosses the blood brain barrier.

My guess is yes since the combo Macrolide/Bactrim was successful for some people with Bartonella.

I think there is a theory that Bactrim does sometimes help with bartonella.
