I was prescribed the following antibiotics:

Bactrim - 1 Tab 2x/Day
Azithromycin - 1 250MG pill 2x/Day

I put a call into my doc but wanted to know what everyone else is doing also. THe only thing she said in regards to what to take when, was to not take the probiotics within an hour of the Abx. So, do i take the ABX an hour before or after the supplements?

I am currently doing this:

8am:

1. OPC-3 (Antioxidant From Chiropractor)
2. Oil of Oregano (2 drops in Water to wash down):
3. Probiotics (2 capsules)
4. Garlic (2 Capsules)
5. Alpha Lipoic Acid (600mg - 2 capsules)
6. Fish Oil (2 capsules - 2000mg)
7. 1 Scoop Fiber in Fruit Smoothie (Breakfast)

1 hour later I take SerraPro

At Lunch (12-2)

1. Vitamin Pack

At Dinner (6-8)

1. Oil of Oregano in Water to was down:
2. Probiotics
3. Garlic
4. Alpha Lipoic Acid
5. Fish Oil

At Bedtime (10-12)

1. Magnesium (2 Tablespoons)

SO where in there would you recommend to take the Abx?

Thanks for your help!

I just received a response from my LLND. She said to take them at 7a and 7p ideally. In the AM, that's before my breakfast..7p is generally right around when i eat so i'll have to just take them an hour afterwards.

Thanks for any other insight

Glad to hear your LLND answered that for you. They do know best, with all the particulars in mind, too.

A good rule of thumb is to separate by several hours in all directions:

Antibiotics

Probiotics

Supplements

------------
That is because (as we know) Antibiotics can destroy Probiotics. But so can many supplements, especially those with antifungal properties such as Olive Leaf Extract, garlic/allicin, Coptis, and Berberine-containing herbs. Although not listed as properties, many herbs may have some level of antimicrobial effects. So, just to be sure, it's good to separate if there is any question.

Of course, all this separation can become more difficult for things that require food. For instance, B vitamins really need food. Otherwise, nausea and stomach cramping can result from the B3. Same with propolis and bee pollen.

Vitamins, though, are not as likely to have antifungal properties as herbal supplements may.

As for other Rx, that would also be another mix. I just don't take any so I forget that others do. The prescribing doctor is best for specifications. Generally, it's is best to separate Rx from supplements by a couple hours.

Thyroid, whether synthetic or natural, needs to avoid calcium and soy - in foods and in supplements.

Many antibiotics need to avoid calcium and magnesium (other than smaller amounts in some foods but DAIRY food, itself, should not be consumed within a couple hours of ABX in the Tetracycline family.

Abx should be taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after probiotics.
