Neurological symptoms often described as "dizzy, tipsy, and spaciness," similar to a sensation of "floating" or "walking off the top of a mountain onto a cloud"
This is on a common symptom list for Babesia. This couldn't possibly describe me more accurately. I know a lot of people with babesia have this on and off but my question is how many have had this symptom CONSTANTLY for an extended period of time?
I woke up like this one day and have not felt normal since, it has not let up for ONE SECOND. It's completely deabilitating and I cannot go back to school until it's resolved. If anyone's ever had the same thing, did Mepron help? If so, how long until you started to see improvement? I've tested neg for Babesia twice but hoping to treat anyway. Is there anything else that could be doing this?

I would like to know this too.
As i've mentioned to you before... I have had the exact same symptom for 17 months. I would describe mine as drunk, altered reality, derealization, woozy feeling.
It's gotten slightly better over the past 17 months. I haven't treated babesia or bartonella yet so I am guessing it is one of these two bugs
I also have had to drop out of school for now.
I'm wondering if mepron may be the answer.
have you had your appointment with dr. k yet? if so what did he say?

One of the side effects of Mepron is dizziness, so it's hard to know if I'm any better. Right now I'm just really really sick.

I have all of the above 24/7..i also call them brain shocks....beeen out of work for 6mths..just saw and llmd and he says neuro lyme with muscular involvement...waiting for western blockbutwas started on omnicef oral and thyroid meds by DR R in NYC ..awaiting picc line and rocephin for 6 months of IV therapy...also given many nutients..sublingual b12 1000mcg 2x a day to help with the brain issues and scarring...maybe that will help?

I can totally relate to this!! I thought there was something really wrong with me because I've been experiencing these horrible neurological symptoms (the dizziness, haziness, unreal feeling, fatigue, anxiety, and depression) 24-7 for over a year! I even had to quit work!
The first time I was tested for Babesia, my results came back negative. Then about a month later, I tested positive...then a month later negative...and finally three months later, positive. You could possibly have Babesia, but since it only affects a small percentage of red blood cells, it can be difficult to diagnose. In addition, there are 4 types of human Babesia but almost all labs search for the most common strain--Microti.
I would suggest you go to a good LLMD. My doctor suspects I have Lyme as well, but I have never tested positive. My primary care Dr. perscribed Zithromax and Mepron for 2 weeks. The Mepron made me really dizzy and I was getting a rash. She stopped me after 12 days. Because I was not on long enough, I did not see any results. Then I decided to see an LLMD. He is starting me off slowly on Tetracycline in case of Lyme. I will eventually be going on Mepron and Zithro, possibly Plaquinil. I have a follow-up in a week.

My son has this same symptom list (and more) and his LLMD said treat Babs first... we did mepron and zith for a month - no change.
Possibly that wasn't long enough but the LLMD made the call that we must treat the neurological lyme with IV and then come back to the Babs when lyme was diminished some.
He has done a 5 day course of art, black walnut and cloves... but herxed bad so I stopped giving it too him.
I took him to a ND for muscle testing and she said parasites are his most crushing issue and started him on Detoxode... seems to be gentler on him than mepron or the herbal mix. Hopefully it is working!
We go to see the ND once a week until he is more stable. Paid for 12 visits in advance - I felt the price was reasonable and the treatment much needed. We need all the help we can get!

I had all of these symptoms. Brain fog, derealization / depersonalization, dizziness, drunk feeling, etc.
I have no idea what got it to go away..but it is gone. My regimen since starting treatment:
Doxy / Flagyl for 6 weeks
Biaxin / Amantadine / Flagyl for 12 weeks
Levaquin / Doxy / Flagy for 2 weeks
Rifampin / Biaxin / Amantadine / Flagyl for 3 weeks
Biaxin / Amantadine for 3 weeks
Bactrim / Biaxin/Rifabutin / Amantadine / Flagyl for 3 weeks.
But..my dizziness / depersonalization was gone after the first 6 weeks.

I feel like I dove under water and have not come back up. I tested positive for babesia and started mepron a week ago. It sure would be nice to have a clear mind.
My dizziness is not as bad but I still get bouts of it. I am exhausted. The worst part is the mental/emotional numbness.
It is like my mind is sandwiched between two mattresses. I hear a relentless whorling noise in my head like traffic from an interstate during rush hour. I have walked off solid ground into those clouds and am falling though the nothingness.
That is the only way I can describe it. I hope Mepron begins to work soon. I would so love to be able to think again. The LLMD gave me a drug that I did not get filled as he felt it would help with the brain inflammation. It was an anti- psychotic drug! Looks like I may be getting that filled after all.

Nefferdun, I was given an anti-psychotic medication because LD caused me to develop a mood disorder. It of course has done wonders to balance my moods; but it has also really helped with some other mental/emotional issues. I think it would be worth a try to see if it helps you.
